The Vallespir starts just past the border: Le Boulou is the first A9 exit in France, and Céret and Amélie-les-Bains are a few kilometres further up the Tech valley. The route
Via Le Boulou and the Tech valley
The driver follows the AP-7, toll-free on the Spanish side, crosses the border at Le Perthus and leaves the A9 at Le Boulou. The road then climbs the Tech valley: Céret, then Amélie-les-Bains, Arles-sur-Tech and Prats-de-Mollo. Allow about 180 km and two hours from central Barcelona, a little more from El Prat, and around 100 km from Girona airport.
The upper Vallespir is also linked to Catalonia by the Col d’Ares, between Camprodon and Prats-de-Mollo. It is a slower mountain road: the driver only takes it when it makes sense for your address and the weather allows.

Arriving for a spa cure in Amélie-les-Bains
A French medically approved spa cure usually lasts three weeks, with eighteen days of treatment, so guests arrive with three weeks of luggage and often a companion. A transfer saves carrying cases between plane, train and coach: the driver meets you at the airport with a name sign and drops you outside your accommodation.
If you know your dates, book both ways together: for the return, enter your address in Amélie-les-Bains as the pick-up and the airport as the destination. If a passenger needs help getting into the car or travels with a folding wheelchair, mention it when booking.
